Will Shakira x Burna Boy “Dai Dai” hit #1 on the Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 before the World Cup Opening Match on June 11?
Outcome: NO
How this forecast is settled
A global anthem vs. local chart dominance, the race is on. With early streaming momentum already building, the question is whether the World Cup wave can translate into a full chart takeover in Nigeria before kickoff.
Resolution
Despite massive World Cup exposure, a Shakira-Burna Boy collaboration, and viral global engagement, "Dai Dai" did not complete a takeover of the Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 before the June 11 World Cup opener. The song performed strongly but local chart leaders maintained their advantage in the Nigerian market.
