Will any major celebrity make a political or social statement during their acceptance speech regarding the ongoing South Africa diplomatic crisis?

Outcome: YES

How this forecast is settled

Will someone address the South Africa crisis on stage? Award shows often invite statements when tensions dominate public conversation.

Resolution

YES, the "elephant in the room" was finally addressed by veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, who broke the industry's diplomatic silence during the live broadcast. While most winners stuck to standard "Thank You" scripts, Kanayo O. Kanayo used his time on stage to issue a direct, unscripted condemnation of the violence in South Africa, calling for a united African front against the attacks. His statement stood in sharp contrast to the cautious approach of the night's hosts, Nigerian comedian Bovi and South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha, who focused heavily on "Pan-African Unity" skits to diffuse the tension.
